Three Cute Puppies Rescued From Avalanche Aftermath

Sure, this might not be the hard-hitting headlines you’re used to seeing on Daily Pnut, but we thought you might need to read something uplifting today. While searching for survivors from the last week’s avalanche, Italian firefighters discovered three living puppies from under the rubble. Not only do their fluffy faces and button noses warm hearts, but they bring the search crews some hope for human survivors as well. Earlier, the body of a woman was recovered from the rubble, bringing the number of the dead to seven people. However, the uncovering of three shaggy white Abruzzo sheepdog pups means there are still air pockets in the collapsed building, and possibly more survivors in other air pockets. Firefighter Fabio Jerman called the discovery of the puppies “an important sign of life, which gives us hope.”
