Italy Suffers Another Great Loss Near The Ski Slopes

At least six people died when a rescue helicopter crashed in the mountains of central Italy yesterday. The helicopter was taking an injured skier to a hospital in L’Aquila, the capital of Abruzzo. Although the rescue was not related to last’ week’s avalanche that engulfed a nearby hotel, the close proximity of these tragedies has affected the region. Gianluca Marrocchi, mayor of the nearby town of Lucoli, said he saw the helicopter flying very low before it disappeared into the fog.
